  • Reading: Curious George’s Dinosaur Discovery By Margret & H.A. Rey’s
  • Sounding out words
  • Long vowels (long vowels say their names and short vowels say their sounds)
  • magic “e” (cane, pine. tube, cone)
  • Digraph “h” sounds: wh, th, sh, ch, ph
  • Reading 3 letter cvc words (hat, hop, cup, ect.) in books.
  • Sight words:five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,  here, too, three, four, he, want,you, not, said, here, look, he, it this ,me, play, my, to, do, go, and, can, see, at, like, am, a, I, the, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, white, brown
  • Math: count and compare numbers to 20
  • Math review addition and Subtraction
  • Practicing writing numbers and letters
  • We are working on writing beginning, middle, and ending sounds in our writing journals.

  • Concepts of print: Title, title page, reading left to right, period, author, illustrator, text in the story.

Things to work on at home:

We will be celebration Valentine’s day on Feb. 14th. Feel Free to have your child send in Valentine cards to pass out to the class. We have 26 students in our class. Please Please only have your child sign their name. I makes it a 100 times harder if they address them. ONLY HAVE YOUR CHILD SIGN THEIR NAME!!

100 Day celebration:

We are still celebrating 100 on Feb. 14 even through it is not 100 day due to all the cold, snow, ice days off.  For our 100th day of school I am planning a celebration on Wed. Feb 14th. Pinterest has some great ideas. Fabric glue works really well with gluing on items.
