Readers corner:
- When reading at night with your child ask them to find sight words in books.
- Ask them what author does and Illstrator does?
- Ask what happened in the beginning of the story, middle, and end of story.
I Can Read:
I sent home 5 I can read sight words. These words need to be practiced at home. Your child will get weekly tests on these words. They just have to be able to read all 5 words to move onto a new list. If your child misses a word it will be highlighted and they will stay on that list.
Fun ways to practice sight words:
- magnetic letters building them
- flash cards
- writing them in fun colors with crayons, colored pencils, or markers, Bingo doppers
- writing them in saving cream, sand, or rice
- Gel in a zip lock bag and have them trace it.
- Tape sight words around the house
- Memory game with them
- Say a sight word have them tap it with a fly swatter
- Tape them to floor have them hop on the sight word
- Pinterest has great ideas too!!
Thanksgiving Lunch:
On November 25th we will be having a classroom Thanksgiving lunch. If your child does not like turkey, corn, mashed potatoes. Free feel to send in a lunch or buy hot lunch.

Donors Choose: HELP PLEASE!! Even if people can only afford to donate $1 or more!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have put in a Donors Choose request for some new flexible seating options for your classroom. This is a great organization that you can donate directly to a teachers cause for things they need for their classroom. The money goes directly in an account for teachers to buy specific items listed. Flexible seating is great for students learning. They can get their wiggles out and still learn in the process. I am planning on starting ours next week. I am looking for more wobble stools (which is very popular in our class), kneeing table (if students want to knee or sit to complete work), more seating for our classroom library area. I have about $335 (I believe) left to go to be able to buy these for our class. Every $1 helps fund this project. I have until December 10th to get it funded! If you know anyone that wants to donate to my cause it is a tax write off. Here is my link feel free to share it with anyone you know. Also feel free to post it on Facebook.
Hope you have a great week!!
